HOW OUR DRONE DEER RECOVERY PROCESS WORKS
Fast. Simple. Professional — designed to get your deer recovered quickly.
Whether it's your first call to us or you're searching in the dark after a late shot, our 5-step recovery process takes the guesswork out of a stressful situation. Here's exactly what happens from the moment you contact Sky-Stag Solutions to the moment you put your hands on your deer.
THE RECOVERY PROCESS
5 Simple Steps to Recovering Your Deer
No guesswork. No waiting in the dark. Just a clear, professional process from first call to final recovery.
01
STEP 1 — CALL OR TEXT
Call or Text Sky-Stag Solutions
The moment you've taken your shot and need assistance, reach out immediately. Call or text our recovery line any time — including nights, weekends, and early mornings during hunting season. The sooner you contact us, the better your chances of a successful recovery. Don't wait — each passing hour matters.
02
STEP 2 — PROVIDE LOCATION & DETAILS
Provide Your Location & Shot Details
When you contact us, we'll ask a few quick questions: your general location or county, where you last saw the deer, the last blood or sign you found, and property access details. This information lets us prepare the right equipment, estimate flight time, and coordinate landowner access before we arrive on-site.
03
STEP 3 — MEET OUR PILOT ON-SITE
Meet Our FAA Certified Pilot On-Site
Our FAA-certified drone pilot will arrive at your location and conduct a brief field consultation. We'll confirm the search perimeter, review property boundaries, and develop a flight plan designed to cover the most likely recovery zones first. We treat every landowner and property with full respect.
04
STEP 4 — THERMAL DRONE SEARCH BEGINS
Thermal Drone Search Begins
Our state-of-the-art thermal imaging drone takes flight, scanning the area with infrared heat detection. Wounded or deceased deer emit a heat signature that our thermal camera detects even through dense brush, tall grass, and heavy canopy — in conditions impossible for ground tracking alone. We systematically sweep the search zone and relay real-time findings.
05
STEP 5 — LOCATE & RECOVER YOUR DEER
Locate & Recover Your Deer
Once we locate your deer via thermal imagery, we'll pinpoint the exact GPS coordinates and guide you directly to the recovery site. Our goal is a clean, ethical, respectful recovery that honors your hunt and the animal. Most searches are completed within 1-2 hours of arrival.

BEFORE WE ARRIVE
What To Do While You Wait for Our Pilot
What you do in the time between your shot and our arrival can make or break the recovery. Follow these steps to give us the best possible chance of finding your deer quickly and ethically.
Mark Your Last Blood Location
Use your phone's GPS, a pin in OnX Hunt, or a piece of flagging tape to mark the exact spot of your last blood or last sight of the deer. This is the single most valuable piece of information we need.
Stay Out of the Search Area
Resist the urge to push further into the woods. Additional human scent, disturbed ground, and bumped deer can compromise the search. Hold your position and wait for our team.
Note Property Boundaries
Identify whether the deer may have crossed onto neighboring property. If so, try to contact the landowner and secure permission before we arrive — this prevents delays once we're on-site.
Secure Landowner Permission
If you're hunting on land you don't own or haven't pre-arranged access, contact the landowner or farm owner now. We operate only with proper permission and will not fly over private property without it.
Ready? We're standing by.
RESPONSE TIME COMMITMENT
